A few of my favorite sights were Raul's, Alexis's, and David's all of which were very original and nice to look at. Each of them had great information about their interests and all filled the criteria that was presented by the teacher. Also the websites were very easy to use making it easy to move from one page to another. Overall I thought that all of the websites could be used by companies and that the class as a whole had great web design.

Visit my website at http://www.cs.trinity.edu/~bklimesh.

Web Desighn

Web Designing is getting easier and easier as each day passes with web-authorizing software such as Expression Web or Dreamweaver available. However these are great products for the creation of web sites the importance of knowing how to use HTML codes can not be over looked. While using a program such as Dreamweaver the lack of knowledge of HTML codes can come to hurt you. If the program has some sort of error and is not working properly the only way to restore your web site and continue designing it is through HTML codes. Although they seem very complicated they are a actually quite the contrary. Once you get a hang of the coding patterns and language which only takes a few minutes then using an HTML code can be as fast as using a high tech program. Although programs such as Dreamweaver make it easy to create web sites the importance of knowing how to use HTML codes can never be overlooked.

Power Point

The power point presentations were very interesting and showed a great range of knowledge of the subject. Every month there are billions of searches which go threw google and other search engines and to learn how they work was enlightening and gave me a better understanding of how to search. The most important thing I learned from the presentation was that not all sights on google or other sights can be trusted especially when it comes to research of a topic. Often times people post there view rather then facts about things which makes researching a little risky. He taught me that using google scholar or Informine which is University of California's scholastic search engine are mush better ways to get academic information which is reliable and factual. Overall I loved the presentation and learned so much from it and am now much more knowledgeable on how to get information off of the web.

Power Point

Through out my school career I have seen and made many Power Points which I am now realizing were not as effective as they could be. One recurring problem that I saw over the years were long and wordy slides which were read by the presenter. This is boring and not as effective as it could be. The slides should be short and to the point showing a visual representation of what the presenter is saying without reading the slide. Another style I have found is that slides can be very plain and boring. The slides should stand out and a white screen with black writing does not stand out and "aw" anyone. It is way more effective to use interesting graphics which better incorporate the audience. the opposite of having a slide which is too plane is one which is overly and not appropriately flamboyant. Texts which are hard to read or colors that hurt the eyes only distract the audience taking away from the over all presentation. If a presenter doesn't want to spend much time talking rather then just going over bullet points a very effective way of having the audience attentive is to include a video which is very easy to do. this will get the point of the slide and presentation across in a very easy way for both the audience and the presenter. Finally presenters who just sit down reading their not cards and clicking through slides are boring, know your stuff! Make eye contact with the audience walk around and know what you have to say by heart this will prove you actually know what you are talking about and will demand the attention of the listeners. These are things that can be done very easily and will add much to a presentation.

Excel

Through out my entire career as a student i have never had to use Excel making my original knowledge on the program minuscule. In this class however I have found it to be a very help full and easy resource for many school and real life assignments all it takes is just a small amount of basic knowledge about the program to make it an important recourse. Through my learning's of the program I an now say that it will be a very help full recourse that I will begin to use in real life situations. I have recently began to invest in the stock market and I have created my own Excel program to help chart my data and money. The charting and graphing that I have done on the program is great to help me find patterns and allows me to better predict the market. This truly is one of my favorite resources and I am sure I will be using it a ton through out my life.

Fake Pictures

The picture I chose was a picture of a shark jumping at a man hanging from a helicopter. It offers a wide range technological devices to help the learning process of Trinity's students. The CLT has and Audio/Video room which allows for students to not only create but edit audio and video devices. It has a large room where video conferencing can take place allowing groups of people to gather and talk to someone thousands of miles away through a high tech and big screen video conferencing machine. Not only does the CLT offer many great technological devices but it is a very quiet area providing the highest of learning capabilities.
The CLT is not only a great study center but it adds entertainment to Trinity's student population by supplying and being the home base of Tiger TV. Movies and student made shows are played and recorded in the video room which is located in the back of the CLT. It has the finest of recording equipment with a major News channel quality camera and audio booms.
Overall the CLT is one of the finest rooms Trinity has to offer and is truly an amazing place to check out and learn about.

Copyright Violations

Copyright violations are becoming a phenomena all over the world. With technological advances getting free music is not only getting easier but it is becoming easier to be caught. 4 % of all copyright violations occur on college campuses and yet with this seemingly small percent it is the governments number one concern. College kids are being sued for tens of thousands of dollars for a small amount of violations. I'm not saying that what these kids are doing is fair but I believe that rather then the government busting down on college kids they should go for the other 96% of the violators who are dong the most damage. If they do successfully stop all 4% of the college population then that still leaves millions of violators and the gain for the government and industry agencies are minimall. The idea of stopping the kids however could make sense in that it stops the young therefore it will prevent the young violators from continuing there illegal actions in the future which in the long run could lower the number of violators.

Wireless Internet Connection

Having a wireless connection as good as the one which I as a Trinity student have is a huge help in both the academic world of the school and the social part of school. Academically it allows students who bring their computers to class to access their email where they could hold class notes or other important academic information that would not be possible without a great wireless network. Socially it allows students to on websites such as Facebook which is great way to stay connected to friends from home or at other schools. Also it allows students to carry a computer to a friends room down the hall to do anything from watching a movie on it or showing a funny video on youtube. Over all the wireless service provided for Trinity students allows for both academic h and social needs that would not be possible without the wireless connection.

http://searchnetworking.techtarget.com/news/article/0,289142,sid7_gci1275414,00.html

Ben's Introduction to Computer Class

My name is Ben Klimesh and have lived in Wilmette Illinois which is 14 miles north of Chicago for the past 17 years of my life.
